Big Power 5
Big Power 5
by Johny Midnight
A large-scale abstract work capturing Battersea at dusk. Fluorescent pink highlights pulse against a cubist sun and turquoise London skyline, luminous autumn tones reflecting back across the Thames in a charged, electric composition.
Limited edition fine art prints, hand-signed and numbered by the artist. Once the edition is sold out, it will not be reproduced.

Artwork Description
The sky is built with palette knives - flat planes of terracotta blue and softened neutral tones laid with confidence. A stylised cubist sun hovers at the edge of the composition, lending the scene a graphic, surreal quality. The distant London skyline appears in turquoise and white behind the power station, hinting at urban density. Battersea itself glows with fluorescent pink highlights, the colour spilling into the foreground where the River Thames reflects these luminous tones back in rippling bands of pink, turquoise and deep blue.

Artist's Insight
With Big Power 5 I was deliberately chasing intensity. Battersea never felt static to me - even when silent, it seemed charged with energy. I leaned heavily into fluorescent pink and bold contrast to capture that feeling, letting the building pulse against the city behind it. I wasn't interested in architectural accuracy. I wanted to paint how the power station felt at dusk - glowing, reflective, slightly unreal - as London shifted around it. The cubist sun was instinctive. It felt like the right way to anchor all that colour.
