  • Artwork Description

Battersea Power Station is reduced to its most recognisable elements - two towering chimneys rising from an abstracted structure. The sky feels stormy and electric, built from bright turquoise greens and vivid magentas applied with palette knives and sponges to create depth and atmosphere. The chimneys are rendered in warm oranges and soft beiges, standing out against the restless background. The body of the power station is a rich interplay of magenta, yellow, purple and soft grey. In the foreground, the River Thames reflects these colours back - created using rollers, credit cards and palette knives, producing broken shimmering reflections that echo the chaos and beauty of the scene above.

  • Artist's Insight

Vicky's Power was a commissioned piece, which gave it a unique emotional charge from the outset. Knowing the work was destined for a specific person allowed me to loosen up, push colour harder and let instinct take over. I experimented with every tool I had - sponges, palette knives, credit cards - because the commission gave me permission to play. The intense colour palette mirrors the personality behind it, while Battersea remains the constant anchor. This painting proves that size doesn't dictate impact. It's a small painting with a big voice - confident, joyful and unmistakably mine.
